SAN RAFAEL—Assemblyman Mark Leno today earned the endorsement of Marin County Board of Supervisors President Charles McGlashan, who said Leno’s strong leadership on core Democratic issues such as the environment, education and health care make him the best choice to represent Marin County in the state Senate.
“Mark Leno is the best choice to represent Marin County’s interests in the state Senate,” McGlashan said. “Mark Leno is a champion of increasing our use of alternative energy and building communities that reduce our environmental footprint. He’s battled for greater consumer protections to reduce harmful chemicals in our everyday life. He’s fought for universal health care, to expand educational opportunities for some of our most vulnerable students, and he’s battled to protect our civil rights on courageous issues like marriage equality.”
“Mark Leno’s legislative accomplishments alone would be enough to endorse him,” McGlashan continued. “But Mark Leno’s leadership style sets him apart and truly makes him the best choice for Marin and for California. Mark Leno believes in collaboration and the simple idea that it’s possible to get things done by following the rules and conducting oneself with high ethical standards and integrity. These are cores values that resonate with me and, I believe, with Marin voters.”
“I am honored to have Supervisor McGlashan’s endorsement,” Leno said. “Board President McGlashan and I share the same vision for creating more sustainable communities, reducing our impact on the environment, improving education, expanding access to health care and finding creative new ways to get more people involved in our democratic process.”
